# Vision

Cassava Network is a tokenized rewards platform committed to improving the lives of people in Africa and around the world through widespread blockchain and Web3 adoption.

Our native rewards token,**$CSV**, can be implemented in any existing or new Web2 application to give users exposure to Web3 rewards. Rather than migrating users from existing apps to blockchain-based solutions, we bring blockchain to the apps where users already are.

Cassava is backed by a powerful multi-function app and wallet, which allows users to explore rewards, manage assets including NFTs, perform in-app swaps, access staking pools, engage with DeFi protocols and interact with Web3 platforms through the in-wallet browser. While initially launching on Binance Smart Chain, we plan to support as many blockchains as soon as possible.

The name ‘Cassava’ was inspired by the namesake root vegetable widely grown in West Africa and countries in both South America and Southeast Asia. Nigeria is currently the world’s largest producer of cassava, contributing to the nutrition of over half a billion people. Cassava is nutritious and versatile and is generally considered as a reliable ingredient to complete any dish. We chose this name, because we see it as a strong representation of a sustainable means of income, rather than a symbol of something or merely anything of speculative nature. Cassava develops a decentralized and permissionless system that facilitates seamless flow of rewards to users in recognition of their contributions. Building on these features, cassava extends its robust Community capabilities, forging connections with project collaborators worldwide across both Web2 and Web3 spheres and granting them access to numerous African communities.

We firmly believe that Cassava, backed by both user traffic and technology, can create a rich and powerful crypto ecosystem and become the infrastructure and core application for the African community to embrace the Web3 era. With Cassava, we aim to improve lives and connect the world.
